What are MOOCs?  According   to   Wikipedia:-   A   Massive   Open   Online   Course   (MOOC)   is   an   online   course   aimed   at   unlimited   participation and   open   access   via   the   web.   In   addition   to   traditional   course   materials   such   as   filmed   lectures,   readings,   and   problem sets,   many   MOOCs   provide   interactive   user   forums   to   support   community   interactions   among   students,   professors,   and teaching   assistants.   MOOCs   are   a   recent   and   widely   researched   development   in   distance   education   which   were   first introduced in 2006 and emerged as a popular mode of learning in 2012. Magazine Distribution

Magazine Distribution Assistance is still needed with the distribution of our Bridgwater U3A Quarterly magazine. Many   members   pick   up   their   copy   at   the   appropriate   coffee   morning.      However   if   you   do   not   normally   come   along   to   the coffee mornings perhaps you know someone who does who could pick up your magazine for you. Also   volunteers   are   needed   to   take   on   magazine   delivery   in   their   own   locality,   particularly   members   who   live   in   outlying villages. If you think you could help please speak to June (01278 685556).

Drama  ~  A Proposed New Group

Drama  ~  A Proposed New Group As a new member of Bridgwater U3A I would be very interested in starting an Amateur Dramatics Group. As a first stage it would be good to know who else in our U3A may have a similar interest. I have a history in Amdram, having acted in 55 plays and produced and directed some 60 plays. If you are interested in “Amdram”, or would like to know more,  please phone me on 07511 109048. When I have sufficient interested members on the list we can arrange an initial meeting to discuss the way forward. I look forward to hearing from you, Derek B
