Boules/Skittles Meetings:  2nd Tuesday of each month from ~ 11:00 am until ~ 3:00 pm Group Leader: Les Telephone: 01278 424509
Boules is a game of French origin, similar to Bowls, but played with steel balls (called boules) on a special outside pitch. It involves throwing boules from a fixed position in order to get as close to the jack as possible. It is sociable, fun, it is played in teams and the rules are easy to learn and understand. Some skill is required, but not too much physical fitness. As the boules pitches are attached to pubs, we are able to derive some inspiration with the help of drinks from the bar and food at lunchtime. We play boules in the summer and skittles in the winter. The exact month of change depends on the weather but it is usually boules from April to October and skittles during the winter months. If the weather is bad we play skittles whatever the season. No previous experience is necessary nor is it necessary to play both morning and afternoon or stay for lunch. Come for as long as you like and enjoy it. Les More Members Needed...
